Why Sharks Matter book talk with author David Shiffman
June 28, 2022 @ 7:00-8:00 pm
Sharks are some of the most ecologically important, threatened, and misunderstood animals on Earth. More often feared than revered, their role as predators of the deep have earned them a reputation as a major threat to humans. But the truth is that sharks are rarely a danger to us—quite the opposite.
Join us for a virtual book talk and Q&A with marine conservation biologist David Shiffman who, in his new book Why Sharks Matter, explains why it’s crucial that we overcome our misconceptions and rise above cinematic jump scares to embrace sharks as the imperiled, amazing, elegant, and critically important creatures they really are. The conversation will be moderated by DCSWA vice president Sam Jones.
You can order a copy of David’s book from Bookshop.org here or directly from the publisher here.
