The weather's getting colder, and you know what that means: It's time once again for DCSWA's annual holiday party! We've missed seeing you all in person, but we're going to keep things virtual just a little longer, with the hope that vaccines rolling out to kids will make future in-person gatherings easier. We'll be meeting up on Gather Town as we did last year.
To liven up the virtual festivities, we're planning a contest! Enter your most fantastic science-themed baked goods in Science is Sweet! DCSWA’s Great Holiday Treat Contest. Whether you're a skilled baker or prefer to decorate store-bought desserts, this contest will be lots of fun. Enter by 10:00 PM ET on Sunday December 12th, and join us for voting and announcing of winners during the holiday party. Winner gets bragging rights and a small gift. We're also bringing back a feature of in-person DCSWA parties past: A raffle! Everyone who registers for the party will get entered to win a chance to pick from DCSWA's grab-bag of science-themed prizes, from books to board games, to DCSWA mugs. If you win, we'll mail your pick directly to your home!
If you're not familiar with Gather Town, it's a virtual platform where you create an avatar, ‘walk’ around a ‘room’ and have video conversations with fellow attendees in groups or individually. If you came to last year's party, you may recall themed virtual rooms with some very 2020 references. (Four Seasons Total Landscaping, anyone?) We'll have fun spaces for you to check out once again as you socialize with colleagues.
