Join DCSWA for a virtual watch party of the Netflix docuseries The Mind, Explained followed by a Q&A with Adam Cole, who wrote, produced, and directed the show.
Adam Cole is a science journalist and filmmaker based in Washington, DC. In addition to working as a freelancer, Adam was a senior producer at Vox and spent 8 years at NPR's science desk, where he created, produced, and hosted the video series Skunk Bear.
The event on Monday, November 8 will be split into two parts:
7:00 - 7:25 pm: We’ll begin in Zoom and then quickly transition to a group viewing of The Mind, Explained Psychedelics episode using Teleparty. Teleparty is a free browser plug-in that lets people watch tv/movies together. Please be logged into Netflix and have the Teleparty plug-in installed on your computer before the event begins. *NOTE: To join the Teleparty, please click on the link that will be shared in Zoom and THEN click on the Teleparty icon in your browser bar. Without this step, the episode will launch as if you were watching alone.
7:25 - 8:00 pm: We’ll switch back to Zoom and Adam will join us for a Q&A to share his experience writing, producing, and directing the series, and answer audience questions. The Q&A will be moderated by science writer and DCSWA board member Sam Jones.
This event is free for members and $5 for non-members. The event will be held on zoom. You'll receive an email before the event with zoom login information.
