Calling all hikers and nature lovers! Here’s your chance to experience the beautiful U.S. National Arboretum after hours on a guided Full-Moon Hike on September 15, 7:30 – 9:30 p.m. The USNA’s Full Moon Hike is “a moderately strenuous hike to appreciate the beauty of the Arboretum at night.” Our guide will carry a night-vision adapted flashlight; otherwise, the moon will light our way. Pay attention to all your senses as we explore the collections. Listen for the hoot of an owl or the scurry of a fox, or smell the aromas wafting from the herb garden. The total distance will be approximately four miles and will include some hills and uneven terrain. These hikes are very popular, so take advantage of the opportunity to enjoy this unique experience with DCSWA.
